This salt and pepper mill is handmade in South Africa.

Every mill is unique as it is turned from natural wood. Each has its own characteristics and looks different from another.
Each mill is engraved with the species name on the underside of the mill.
Salt and pepper mill – Oak – about the wood:
- Oak is a large tree, native to most of Europe and western Asia, and is widely cultivated in other temperate regions like South Africa.
- The hardwood used to create the Oldroot mills / grinders is sourced from dead and fallen trees in the forest, making use of a sustainable source in an ethical way.
- The wood is cut to size and air dried for up to 3 years until ready to be turned.
- Oak is known for its golden yellowy brown coloring.
About the mechanism:
- The innovative Crushgrind mechanism (25-year guarantee) is made from durable ceramic burrs, permitting easy grinding of salt, pepper and other hard spices.
- The mechanism is fully adjustable from fine to coarse with 14 settings in total.
Spices:
- Black, white, red or green peppercorns are easily ground by the Oldroot mills / grinder. Freshly ground spices creating more flavourful dishes.
- Coarse grain salt is best used in salt and pepper mill – Oak from Oldroot, providing an easy way of serving up freshly ground sea or Himalayan natural salt with your meal.
